SUNRISE ADAPTIVE SPORTS is working to make extraordinary things happen here in the White Mountains of Arizona. For the past 3 years, Sunrise Adaptive Sports
has been working to change lives, or more accurately, show people that they have the power within themselves to change their own lives.
The mission of the Sunrise Adaptive Sports is to expand the potential of people with disabilities and special needs through meaningful, educational, and inspiring on-snow
experiences. S.A.S. began back in 2009 with a group of volunteers only, donations from sponsors, and good, genuine intentions from all those involved. Now S.A.S. offers
Adaptive Skiing and Snowboarding, we have scholarshipped several disabled skiers and boarders for all day private lessons at Sunrise Park Resort, we have paid for Sunrise
Park Resort Ski School Employees to obtain much needed adaptive teaching certifications and schooling, and we have purchased the Sunrise Park Resort Adaptive Program a
brand new, state of the art mono ski.
Sunrise Adaptive Sports is a non-profit, educational organization. We are funded through the generous support of many local businesses and many, many individuals. We
strive to keep our entry fees for events as low as possible and also raise scholarship monies to further help those in need.
Who does S.A.S. serve?
S.A.S. has something for everyone who seeks an on-snow adventure. Educational experiences are offered for people with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities, youth,
adults, veterans, and. . . the list goes on and on. Volunteer opportunities are available for people of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities and
special needs.
